# AONO R26 — scratch-built model study

This is an original 2026-inspired open-wheel educational reconstruction, authored as separate geometry. It is not an exact Red Bull, Ferrari, or other team's chassis, nor manufacturing CAD. It contains no downloaded marketplace geometry, copied sponsor decals or embedded reference images. Creation used no paid assets or services.

## Deliverables

- `assets/aono-r26.glb`: assembled, editable glTF 2.0 binary, metre scale.
- `assets/aono-r26-exploded.glb`: the same geometry in exploded presentation positions.
- `assets/parts-manifest.json`: named assembly hierarchy, offsets, descriptions and limits.
- `src/car.js`: editable parametric construction source. Regenerate both GLBs with `bun run build:model`.
- `src/authored-details.js`: R27 panel seams, louvres, wheel/brake faces, cockpit silhouette, powertrain lines and authored fasteners grouped with existing assemblies.
- `assets/aono-r27-master.blend`: editable Blender 5.2 master scene generated from the local exported geometry; it preserves the named mesh library and uses non-destructive micro-edge modifiers plus a local studio render setup.
- `assets/aono-r27-visual.glb`: exported Blender visual asset. Garage validates its 33 named assemblies before using it; Drive, Watch, downloadable exports and deterministic verification retain the source model.
- Local inspection viewer: `bun start`, then open `http://127.0.0.1:4173`.

The GLBs can be imported into Blender or another glTF-capable editor. Geometry remains separate: 33 assemblies and 2,020 meshes in the textured exports, totaling 447,433 triangles. The R27.2 source before finishing decals has 2,011 meshes and 441,532 triangles. The inspection renderer batches meshes within each assembly to reduce draw calls; the downloadable source preserves the detailed hierarchy. The viewer validates and loads the Blender visual asset only for Garage; the exported GLBs are independently validated.

## What can be inspected

Assembled / Internals / Exploded presets; continuous separation; component search; hide/show each assembly; isolate and focus; orbit/zoom; front, side and top views. Wheel rotation and rear flap movement are illustrative mechanism studies. The Drive and Watch race tabs use the same exterior geometry, optimized for rendering. They run an original circuit with estimated vehicle dynamics; the Garage mechanism animations are separate from that simulation.

Outer assemblies: nose, sidepod shells, engine cover and airbox, halo, front/rear wings, floor and diffuser. Interior assemblies: hollow carbon survival-cell representation; seat, harness, steering wheel and pedals; fuel-cell and battery enclosures; radiator fins and coolant pipes; V6 banks, six piston crowns, heads/intake, headers, turbo and MGU-K; transmission case and differential/half-shafts; control enclosure and wiring; wishbones, pushrods, spring/damper representations, brake discs/calipers, hubs, tires and rims.

## Accuracy and limits

Public references support the broad 2026 layout: 3.4 m maximum wheelbase, 1.9 m overall-width target, V6 turbo hybrid with MGU-K and no MGU-H, and active front/rear aerodynamics. The model adopts a 3.4 m wheelbase. This is not a full FIA dimensional/compliance check; all other dimensions and hidden layouts are original approximations. Tire stripes and livery are original decorative elements.

The six-cylinder layout, pipes, cooling, fuel and electrical packaging are illustrative. Internal valve trains, a fully articulated engine mechanism, every fastener, functional gearbox internals, composite layups, hydraulic circuits and crash behavior are not fully engineered. Cylinder bores are represented schematically beneath removable heads and block shells. Separate crank/rod/piston representations and eight illustrative gear pairs are visible with their covers removed. These are static geometry, not a functioning combustion or transmission mechanism. Suspension is not a solved kinematic rig. Exploded offsets are for visibility and are not physical removal procedures. Performance and exact team fidelity are unvalidated. This is a component-level model foundation, not a production-ready racing simulator.

## Reference treatment

The supplied blueprint/exploded images guide composition, hierarchy and the ability to reveal inner systems. Their captions are not instructions or verified measurements. The concept car, Red Bull-style diagrams, older Ferrari composition and Daytona road-car diagram do not describe one consistent 2026 vehicle. The Daytona image contributes only the layered presentation idea. No printed performance claim from these images is used as model truth.

## Next model refinement

Choose a specific team only if exact external fidelity becomes the next task. Replace approximate envelopes with source-traceable surfaces; engineer suspension pivots and physics colliders independently; add higher-detail mechanical subassemblies where evidence supports them. Do not label this original design as an exact team replica.

## Current visual revision

The revised model uses hollow sculpted sidepod and engine-cover shells, rounded tire profiles, swept wing elements, shaped diffuser vanes, beveled mechanical housings, original procedural carbon/rubber maps and AONO markings. The R27.2 authored pass adds panel-break and leading-edge treatment, cockpit/helmet forms, modeled mirror/camera pods, cooling louvres, floor strakes, brake ducts, wheel-center and segmented tire-stencil treatment, readable powertrain plumbing and service fasteners, plus continuous swept sidepod shoulders, central spine and suspension fairings. It now includes outer-skin recessed cooling apertures with perimeter rims, internal guide vanes and rear outlet louvres. The Blender visual asset adds editable AONO mesh identity marks and authoring controls without replacing the source authority for driving or export. PBR finishes and all textures are embedded in both GLBs. Four palette studies share this one original chassis; they are not four team-specific models.

The independent visual comparisons have not passed the requested 95% production-quality threshold. Round 14 is the current R27.2 Blender-backed capture set, but it has not received a fresh independent blind comparison; the last independent result remains the Round 4 failure. Body topology, mechanical authenticity, UV layout and surface finishing remain below the supplied illustrations. Mesh count and valid exports do not imply visual approval.

## Race simulation assumptions

The original Circuit 01 is approximately 1.129 km. Drive is a three-lap time trial; Watch runs four original test entries. Fixed-step vehicle dynamics approximate acceleration, drag/downforce, combined grip, temperature/wear, fuel and energy deployment. Checkpoints enforce lap order; off-track laps are invalidated; collisions use simple distance constraints. The simulation is not calibrated against real F1 telemetry, tire test data or aerodynamic maps. Suspension travel, tire carcass behavior, CFD, damage, pit strategy and real team performance are not simulated.

WASD/arrows drive, Space brakes, Shift deploys energy, C switches camera, P pauses and R restarts. A gamepad uses steering axis and triggers. Focus loss pauses. Personal bests remain in local browser storage. No account or external service is needed.
